Meet the Writer

Emile founded Briar & Berry Books to publish her own stories. After earning a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication, she worked as a content strategist and writer at a higher education institution, then moved into copywriting at an advertising agency. But while writing has always been part of her career, fiction remained on the back burner—something personal, something for later.

After having a “life evaluation” (she has those more often than she’d like to admit), she finally acknowledged that publishing a novel had always been her dream. Her husband is not a writer himself, but he turned out to be a pretty incredible creative partner. Now they share a whiteboard full of scribbles and a shared Apple Note, where they jot down any morsel of an idea that comes up.

Emile is currently working on her debut novel, the first in a planned interconnected duology. Outside of writing, she loves coffee and long runs that give he space to think and reset.
